Monitoring and Concerted Action Committee

A monitoring committee for the L’Érable wind farm project was established in 2009, two years before the groundbreaking for construction of the wind farm.

The monitoring committee includes representatives of the regional county municipality, the municipalities concerned, the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA), the Syndicat des propriétaires forestiers, the developer, the owners and the Conseil régional de l’environnement du Centre-du-Québec (CRECQ).

All its members held regular meetings in the planning and construction phases, and now in the operating phase.

One of the committee’s objectives is to ensure good coordination of the various stakeholders participating in the project, and find solutions to problems encountered during every phase of the project.

Under the Decree issued by the Gouvernement du Québec, a register of complaints is submitted annually to the MDDLCC and to the Monitoring and Concerted Action Committee during each of its meetings. The committee’s role includes collecting and addressing the public’s complaints and proceeding with the usual recommendations. The public can have access to the register of complaints and the monitoring reports by making a request through our website (“Contact us” section).

During this wind farm operating phase, the meetings of the Monitoring and Concerted Action Committee are now less frequent. However, a subcommittee composed of members of the host municipalities, neighbours of the project area, and different government departments meets when necessary to deal exclusively with soundscape comments.
